Where we were...

Ok, so I know I didn't wait long, but wanted to be able to have another post, so our vacation we just got back from was in Hilton Head, South Carolina. If you have never been there, you should go! It is a quaint little town right on the ocean. It has beautiful beaches, great resturants, and lots of things to do (if you want to). Three years ago, my Dad and step-mom started the tradition. For Christmas, they gave each family some money to put towards a summer vacation to Hilton Head. Our first trip was wonderful, this trip was even better than that. It was great to see my Dad & Kim (my step-mom) also known as Poppy and Mimi. We also had the opportunity to see my sister Shannon, brother-in-law Blayne and their daugther Ami. We saw my step-brother Kevin, his wife Traci, and their four kids, Taylor, Trey, Kaylee and Karr. And last but not least, we saw my step-sister Katie, her husband Adam and their little boy Henry. If you lost count, there were 17 total people in a five bedroom house for seven days. I thought it would be crazy, and it had it's moments, but it was so much fun! Here is a picture of our entire crew. I will post some more on what we did, and pictures as well, once the editing is done.

Where have I been?

Well, we just got back from vacation this past weekend, so I thought I would have some fun with a guessing game. So where have I been on vacation you ask? I will give you a hint...here is a famous picture of a known item that is from the state we were in...any idea of what state? It is the official state tree of this location.




I have given you enough hints now...find out the answer soon.

Little Swimmer

We went about a week and a half ago to a place here in Houston called FINS.(Fun IN Swimming). Cassidy had her inital evaluation to place her in a swim class. Mike and I had talked alot about it, and decided that it was time Cas really learns how to swim. We will see how it goes. Cas was scared at first, but did pretty good overall. The actual lessons start when we get back from vacation. We will have to see! I was always a fish in the water, but Mike wasn't!

I CAN do all things through him that gives me Strength

I have always been and always will be a Christian. I am not ashamed to say that I love God, and am amazed every day for all that he does in my life. Sometimes I end up drifting away, my excuse being I am busy, but God always allows me to find my way back to him. I consider myself one lucky girl. I have a wonderful husband, amazing big girl, and so much family around. Lately, I have been running around crazy, I have allowed myself to stray, thinking I can do that, or telling people, "No problem, we will be there." (Although my husband hates it, I sometimes overbook us
=-). )

One of my favorite versus is, Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who gives me strength."

An ahha moment

Just a few moments ago, I had an ahha moment...have you ever had one of those?

Yesterday, after work, I had to run a couple of errands. I know that doesn't sound exciting at all, and believe me, you didn't miss much at all. I had to go to the local Hallmark store, which with as much money I have spent there over the years I should own by now. And I had to run to the grocery store. See today is a good friend of mine's birthday, and I needed to get a gift, and bake her some brownies (her favorite)! Off I went. As I was trying to hurry after spending a little more time than I should have at the Hallmark store, I ran through U-Scan in the grocery store...as I paid cash for the brownie mix, I just through the dollars in my purse,(since I have so much $$ to spare...NOT!). I went about the rest of the afternoon, picking up Cassidy, getting home, mowing the yard, (wow talking about again is making me tired), cleaning the house up, and trying to get to bed at a decent hour. Not once thinking about the money I through in there. So, this morning, I had a nice surprise as I was looking through my purse trying to find something I needed...wanna see??? I think today is going to be a good day.



I have to say that when I am needing a cute present, your local Hallmark store usually has some cute items. You should check them out, this is what I found for my friend. And the letter is separate. You can get any letter for this bag, and they had some other patterns and styles of bags as well. The letter simply sticks on. Just be careful and know exactly where you want it to go, once you stick it on, it is NOT coming off. Even the Hallmark employee told me that.



I also figured I would make you hungry...here is a picture of the brownies...man they smell good.

9 years...really?

(This morning started out pretty normal, as I was getting ready for work, but it quickly changed. Normally, the mornings are quiet, and I am alone, as Mike, Cassidy and the dog are still sleeping. As I was getting dressed in the bathroom, the door opened, and there stood my wonderful VERY SLEEPY husband. He walked over said good morning, and Happy Anniversary. I told him how much I appreciated him waking up to tell me Happy Anniversary before I went to work, and his response...he only woke up because he drank to much water and had to go to the bathroom...WOW, we have been married for 9 years.) Now with that being said, this post is dedicated to my Amazing, wonderful husband.

Today celebrates my 9 year wedding anniversary, with a man that is more wonderful than I could ever imagine. In some ways I can't believe it's only been 9 years, and in other ways I can't believe it hasn't been longer.

Mike and I have been through a lot of trials in our marriage. The one thing that I can safely say though is I have never doubted Mike's love for me. We have been through buying a home, changing jobs, having a baby, and everything else involved in a marriage. We have been through the small fights, and even the big ones. I don't know where I would be if Mike wasn't with me. I know that I could not do this walk alone, especially now that we have a daughter with us.

Mike has loved me fat and thin, pregnant and moody. We have laughed together, cried together, fought together and I know together we will concur the world. (Not that we need to right now). Actually, our life lately, although a little busy, has been pretty calm, and very stable. Luckily we have not had any major things really going on.

I still remember nine years ago today, having slept on a blow up mattress the night before our wedding (long story), and waking up in my Mom's house to a wonderful breakfast. Sitting outside thinking about the day ahead and that I was about to marry my best friend. I remember every moment of getting ready, the drive to the church, seeing family and friends, and knowing how surrounded in love we were. I am so thankful that we were able to experience that, and truly believe that with the support of our family and friends we are where we are today.

I have never been more in love with Mike then I am right now. Just when I don't think I could love Mike more, I wake up and do. He is a wonderful husband, lover, friend, and most importantly now, the best dad(next to mine), that I have ever known.

I am looking forward to the next nine years and what they will bring.

No title

So, this blog does not have a title. Quiet honestly, I am not sure what I have to write about at the moment. We have been so busy, but I don't have the energy to talk about it today. I just wanted to let those know that follow my blog, or check on us from time to time, we are good, actually GREAT. We as a family have just been super busy, and I have not felt like anything was earth shattering enough to blog about. I promise though, I will get on the ball this weekend. I have been going through a bunch of old pics, and doing a lot of editing, so more to come.
