Fun in the park

A couple of Saturdays ago, we decided that we needed to get out and get some fresh air. So, we headed to a local park in The Woodlands. Cassidy had been eyeing this particular park, and Mike wanted to practice some basketball, and they have a court. So we hoped in the car and went out there. I brought my camera, as it is attached to my hip, and tried to get some shots. Not all of them were great with both Mike and Cassidy moving a lot but, I did get this one of Cassidy. This was before she turned five, but it still counts as part of her five year old photo shoot. What do you think?

Until next post.

A lot of Sweet with a little bit of Sassy

Saturday, September 18th was Cassidy's birthday celebration at Sweet-N-Sassy. For those of you who have never heard of Sweet-N-Sassy, it is a little girls dream come true. At Sweet-N-Sassy, they do everything from normal girls haircuts, to birthday parties. And we were there for the second. We had a Fashion Diva part for Cassidy's day.

Once all the girls were there, they went back to wear the clothes were. Each girl got to pick out what dress she wanted to wear on the runway. Once they were dressed, the fun really began. Each one of the girls got their hair and makeup done. They even got sparkles on their faces.

After they were all dressed it was time for the show. The girls had a blast walking down the runway, showing off their look. They were all smiles.

Then it was time for CAKE! That is always a big hit, and this year, Cas loved her cake! I got a Hello Kitty decorated cake from Kroger, and it turned out adorable.

I have to say it was a wonderful time, and for the money, I was impressed. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff took the cake and party favors out of my hand. They brought us over to the dressing area that is where Cassidy's party was going to be. Our Party Host sat down with the girls as they were showing up and played games and sang songs with them until all the girls had shown up.

After cake and presents, it was time to say goodbye. All the girls had a great time. They really seemed to enjoy themselves, and it was adorable to see them all excited about getting dressed up and being girly!

Until next post!

2. FUNNY
3. LOVING

Today is Cassidy’s 5th birthday. I can’t believe she is five years old! Today is bitter sweet. My little princess is starting to grow up even more, which makes me a little sad, but I am so excited about what her future will hold. I know that Cassidy will be able to do anything that she puts her mind to. I wanted to take a look back from the beginning until today, so join me in a walk down memory lane…5 years worth!

Labor Day

Labor Day means the end of summer has come and gone, no more wearing white and now we are getting ready for winter. Although in south Texas, we don't really have a bad winter, we still have cold days, and overcast skies. With Labor Day, the first of the school year starts, and the roll begins ready for all of the fall happenings. I can't believe in six days my baby will be five. But that's another post for another day. For our Labor Day, we have started a tradition with our friends Mike and Patty, and their kids Brooke and Brandon. We all pile into cars and head to the coast. Last year, I was unimpressed, as we are only going to Galveston, but this year, I have to say, it was a really nice day. The water was clear, the sand (still and always will be) brown, but there was a nice breeze, and not a crazy with crowds as I expected. We went to Stewart Beach which for those who know Galveston, is now a "Family Beach". No alcohol allowed, and lots of beach patrol.

The girls had a good time, swimming on the beach, since we built them a swimming pool. It actually worked out great for the adults as well, since we knew where the kids were, at least most of the time =-) . It was such a nice sunny day, and there was much fun to be had. After the beach all afternoon, we went and showered up and went out for a nice dinner. Then we hoped in the car and headed home. It was a long, but fun day! Thanks to our friends Mike and Patty. I hope we can make it three years and running.

Well, here are some of my favorite pics, and the album from the day as well.
Enjoy!

Really, it's not my Friday off?!?!?!?!?

This morning, I woke up, turned off my alarm and laid back in bed...for a minute I thought it was Friday, and it was my Friday off. See, I am lucky enough to work for a wonderful company that allows us to work a 9/80 schedule. We work nine hour days, and get every other Friday off. This morning, I was just sure it was my Friday, and I should curl back up in bed, but after a moment of quietness, I started thinking of the conversation that I had the night before with Mike, and realized, I had to go to work...I got up, got dressed, and well, here I am. I am about to get back to my normal work duties, but just wanted to stop by my blog for a minute. I hope that if you woke up thinking it was Friday, you weren't as disappointed as I was. I will get over it, but it might take some time. Have a great Thursday!

Cassidy's School Happenings

Cassidy LOVES her kindergarten class. She is doing so well with school, her classmates, and especially her teacher Ms. Juneau. Ms. Juneau is amazing. Cassidy loves her so much. Her teacher has set up a website of all the pictures she takes throughout the year. Here is just a snip it of a few so far. What do you think? I would love to hear from you.

Cassidy's teacher decorated each child a cookie, when they were learning their letters, then they got to eat them! Yummy Art!

Cassidy's Best Friend

Cassidy has many friends at school, but one little girl is her best friend. Her name is Brooke. I am sure if you follow my blog regularly, you have seen that name many times. Her parents and Mike and I get along wonderfully, and really enjoy each other's company. Brooke is about a month and a half older than Cassidy. Her birthday is in July, like Mike and mine. Since this is the case, not many kids are around on her birthday. Her wonderful, sweet mother Patty, decided to go ahead and have her party this past Saturday when everyone had started school. Quite a few girls came from Cassidy's class. It was at a place here in Spring where the wife owns a nail salon, the husband owns a pool company. In turn, it was a nail painting pool party. The girls had so much fun. It was a normal HOT, HOT, HOT day! It was in the mid 90's. (Hello August, I DID NOT miss you!). The pool felt great! Anyway, I wish we could have had this place when I was a kid! (Oh well, I do have to say, I had awesome birthday parties as a kid). Here are some pictures that Mike(not my husband) took. Thanks Mike!
