Student Spolight

I was asked if Cassidy could be the student of the student spotlight this month. I was honored that they would ask us to do that. With that being said, I had to write a little bit about her and provide pictures. So what do you think about the pictures? I took them in the front yard before the sun set this evening.**The bottom one is my favorite!

A little PINK

Tonight we have been having fun with a little color! PINK! Cas has been asking if I would paint her nails for the past few days. So I finally did tonight. And no other color than...pink!

What have you been up to tonight? I love when I can say two out of the three of us have had baths and are in our pj's. Not to mention tonight is pizza night. So, I even got out of cooking. Score!

Well, enjoy your evening whatever it might be!

Tomorrow, I hope you have a happy Thursday!

Until next post!

Where did we go?

So today we took an excursion into Houston. For those who don't know Houston well, it is a large metropolis and we live on the north side of town in a place called Spring. It is a "suburb". Anyway, we go int town a lot, and love to go to one place in particular. We did bring Cas, so it is "kid friendly." And, there were a TON of people there.

It was pretty enough to be outside, and here is a hint, we needed a wagon for Cas.

The 4 D's...Correction the 3 D's and 1 M

Tuesday mornings have become a tradition in our house. Every Tuesday morning, Mike and Cassidy head out to school, but first stop off at the donut store. I can't remember when they started it, but is seems like it has been forever! Normally, Cassidy is easy to wake up, and totally excited about Tuesdays. But today it was a little different. Mike is home with a horrible cold and stayed home from work today. So the 4 D's(Daddy Daughter Donut Day) turned into the 3 D's and 1 M day(Mommy Daughter Donut Day).

Cassidy and I got up, got dressed, fixed our hair and headed out of the house. We headed to the donut store to do the traditional day.
As we were driving the following conversation occurred...

"Are you ready for some donuts this morning?" I said

"Yes, mam." Cassidy replied
"Are you excited to be going with Mommy as a change instead of Daddy?"

"Sure. I love you Mommy." Cassidy said

"I love you too sweetheart. Are you going to have a good day at school today?" I asked

"Sure, but Mommy you ask a lot of questions in the morning." Cas said

"I do?" I replied.

"Yes, and it's just to early to answer them all. Daddy doesn't ask all these questions."

"O.k. Do you still want to get donuts?" I said

"Yes Mommy, but that is the last question I am answering.

I think I laughed until I got to the office. I feel like I am sure my Mother felt just then. I didn't want to pry, but I guess Cassidy takes after her Daddy. She is a girl with a few words. But watch out because when she does speak, people listen!

I love my little munchkin and I love the 3 D's and 1 M day!

Until next post!

Spring Cleaning in February

Recently, I started cleaning out Cassidy's toys. She seems to have so many, and a lot of days they multiply! Anyway, I wanted to share the before and after pictures...I was pretty impressed with my little one. She said good-bye to about half of her toys.

YAY US! Now hopefully we will not replace all of those with new ones. At least one could hope!

A Curly Crown

Every now and then I try to do crafts with Cassidy. Whether it is something small, something to wear, or even just a picture. I think that it helps Cassidy's creativity. Anyway, for Christmas, Cassidy got a magazine subscription to a kid's magazine. In it was "A Curly Crown" project. We had a great time making it. What do you think?

It was super easy and took hardly any time at all. Cassidy still loves it even a month later.

You will need construction paper, scissors, tape, pencil, stickers and crayons

1. Fold a piece of construction paper in half. Cut along the fold line. Tape the pieces together. Fold the strip in half.
2. Unfold the strip. Cut slits on one side of the strip up to the fold line.
3. Roll the cut pieces around the pencil. Decorate your crown with stickers or crayons.
**Adult: Cut and tape the ends together for a perfect fit!

Here are some pictures in case the above made no sense.

100 Days of School

This past Thursday Cassidy celebrated 100 Days of School! They had a great day counting and doing everything related to 100. They made fruit loop necklaces. They also counted items to 100. They got to make ice cream shirts with their fingerprints and had ice cream as a treat.

Cassidy loved the day! Thanks to Mrs. Juneau and her pictures, since I couldn't be there!

Until Next post!

Riding the Range

So this weeks weather has been CRAZY. We go from mid 30's to 40's at the beginning of the week, to today which the high was 72. No wonder why our house or at least Mike and I have had colds.

We have had a pretty quiet weekend, we went to our cousin's house on Friday, ran errands and went to church Saturday, and now today, Cas and I ran a few errands and took a bike ride. That's right, the weather was nice enough today to take a bike ride, and I think it was needed for both Cas and I.

We hopped on our bikes and rode to my Mom's house. In reality, it is only about eight blocks, and going Cassidy was a trooper. It was as if we were out riding the range. Coming home you would have thought that we had ridden twenty-five miles! Cassidy was ready to get home.

Earlier in the day I had made the mistake of mentioning a car ride for Bella. She didn't forget it either. So, since I am not only a mother of a five and a half year old, but a Boston Terrier as well, she whined until we got home. So, we got her in the car, and away we went.

Overall we had a wonderful day and it's not over yet. As I am typing, Cassidy is helping me with my post. In fact, she typed the entire last sentence of the last paragraph! Go Cas!

What have you been up to? Who are you rooting for in the Superbowl, or are you even watching it?

OK, well that's it for this post.

Until next post!

My New Toy

Well, I have officially moved into the 21st century. I know a little behind. But today I bought the family a new laptop. This way when I am posting to my blog, or editing pictures I am not upstairs hidden away in the study!!! YAY US! Anyway, I wanted to share a picture of my new toy, so thanks to Best Buy here you go.

I will keep you posted on what I think...I have a feeling that we made a good choice though!

SNOW DAY!!!

I can't remember the last time that my office closed for snow, or Cassidy's school closed for snow, but today was the day it happened. YAY FOR US!!!! Not that I want a lot of snow all the time, but every now and then it's nice! The only problem that we had was that we were stuck inside for most of the day, and got a little bit stir crazy. We colored, played with fake teeth and we watched some funny shows. Cassidy was even nice enough to let me take a nap. (which I much appreciate.) We had a great day overall.

Will Water Freeze in Houston?

It will when it is 32 degrees outside, and now I have proof. We aren't to far south.

I am thinking that I might be able to save some money on my water bill. If I could get all our cups and fill them up with water tonight, I might be able to stock our freezer...nah, that sounds like too much work!

Have a great day!
